September sun

Ostatnio próbuję dodać trochę jesieni do stylu boho. Moja Rayna :)

Recently I sewn a face mask in 1/6 scale. I think such masks are very in right now 😢😠.Here is a pattern for it, mask is super easy to sew, and it can be a fun craft during quarantine.

Po ukończeniu należy doszyć do każdego rogu tasiemkę albo gumkę. Ja doszyłam gumkę, ktorą zawiazuje z tyłu głowy.

When mask is ready you need to add an elastic thread to each corner. I added it long enough to be able to wrap it around doll's head and makr a bow from it.

Etsy store

Dusting off my blog.Lately I'm not very active online, there's many things that keep me off internet - sewing doll clothes, looking after 11 cats (one will have an eye removal surgery today at noon), some 195cm longhaired guy with amazing body, meeting old friends, you name it.

Anyway, nust finished another bunch of dresses for my very few ladies (and for Etsy store too), as always neckleging my poor guys. Majority of them is lying nude in a storage box, yet I just ordered another 4 hommes from upcoming Integrity Toys convention, seems like they are addiction. One day I will sew each of them at least one complete outfit, I promise.

Was trying to make some interesting photos of new dresses but I failed miserably.

I'm selling some of my outfits on Etsy - www.etsy.com/shop/moonandthememories

What I love and what I hate about 2015 dolls

Long time no see! I'm still here, collecting dolls, just have less time to write and read blogs. In 2015 I bought many Integrity Toys boys plus some female dolls of other brands, need to take some photos of them.

Back to topic of this post. Starting with the "love". None of the photos is mine.

My favourite doll of 2015:

- Techrat from IT's Jem and Holograms line.
Pale skin, black hair, 2 heads in pack, one of them with long hair and one half shaved - what's not to love here? Perfect guy for OOAK, one head can make perfect metal goth and the other a really great punk.I love this doll so much that I got 2 of them.Unfortunaltely had no time to sew him his own, personal clothes in chosen style, hopefully will do it sometime soon.

My favourite thing in general about 2015 dolls:

(source of a photo https://www.flickr.com/photos/french_disney_princess/23235496443/)

- Made to move! Love their bodies! Almost as articulated as Obitsu Body. I just dislike their flat butt, in my opinion it's only natural to have a bit bigger behind if your legs and waist are that muscular. But I love those bodies anyway and will try to rebody some part of my female dolls with them - not all because I want my dolls to have different height and body sizes. I also love that they are made in different colors, four as for now, and possibly there will be even more colors to choose from!

How great is that? But, where are guys? Mattel, stop with this misandry already!

The most dissapointing doll of 2015:

(source of a photo https://www.flickr.com/photos/meike_1995_/21949053961/ )
- aside great majority of Mattel dolls I'm most dissaponted with Toki Doki doll.
How I regret buying her! She looks like a cheap clone doll and not like a collector one! I bought her for her first retail price , which was 75usd, now she cost like 20 something usd and I think it's still too expensive. I got her for a certain OOAK project, but changed my mind when I saw her real photos. Awful quality pink hair, eyes almost above her ears - everything about her screams "Katy Perry" (and I hate her as well)

The most dissapointing thing in general about 2015 dolls

- diversity = no White dolls.

(source of a photo https://www.flickr.com/photos/juskidding09/14912536026/ )

First Prettie Girls proved it with their "oh, so diverse" line which included two Black dolls, one Latina and one Indian. There was some plans for a White doll too, but apparently are long forgotten. The company isn't answering on emails so there's no possibility to ask about Alexia (White doll).

(source of a photo https://www.flickr.com/photos/mrbalikbayanbox/20707125813/)

And second - bunch of "diverse" dolls made and contributed to the 2015 Madrid Fashion Doll Show's charity auction by Carlyle Nuera. There was a Black doll with an afro, blond Asian girl, Indian guy with a man bun, Mulatto guy, Black guy (because two Black dolls just aren't enough apparently!), super dark doll (Dravidian? Black?)and the last one - surprise, it's a brown doll! From 7 dolls 6 are brown and one is Asian, so awesome! For convention taking a place in EUROPE, in Spain, we didn't get even one White doll! Imagine now that this convention had a place in Ghana and that you got dolls of all races/skin colors but no Black! Surely majority of White people don't care, because we are taught to never think about our race and would find my comment ridiculous, but I belong to minority in this subject. I do care. Don't get me wrong, I love dolls in all shades of color, the bigger diversity the better, I even really like those OOAK "diverse" dolls but I find it utterly offensive to not add even one White doll for a European convention.

Honorably mentioned :
Lammily. I had nothing against this doll untill Nicolay Lamm decided this is a feminist doll and made a t-shirts with a big FEMINIST on it, for little girls. Gee, I HATE feminist bs. Dear feminists of both genders, stop spewing hate and stay aways from kids!

Native American Barbie dolls

That will be a really long post.
To będzie naprawdę długi post.

Culture of Native Americans along with ancient Greek, Rome & Egypt and modern Japan is fascinating my sister and me since our childhood. So obviously Barbie doll portraying Native Americans catched our attention (I don't mean those failed ones with Teresa, Diva, or Superstar facemold).
As for now we have 5 of them, but wish for more, some Mattel, and some OOAK, made by me. I want both Mattels Peruvian dolls, also Zapotec from Oaxaca in colorful Juchitan huipil, sadly Mattel didn't make such.

Recently we got another doll from Native American serie, Amazonia Barbie, with Lara face mold.I don't know which tribe exactly she is portraying, I'm guessing it's Tapirapé from Brazil. I dont think she's very accurate looking doll. First, this facemold, it doesn't resemble Native Americans at all. With her small, narrow nose, quite thin lips, and very 'white" shape of face (Laetitia Casta type of face for example) she looks like tanned white woman. Amazonia Barbies skin is definitely too pale, she's wearing a bra, has body painting but none on her face. Anyway, I still like this doll even if she's just a white woman trying to dress up as an Amazonia Indian and find her really beautiful.

Next is very accurate in my opinion Navajo doll. She seems to have everything in place (just her printed "woolen" shawl could be more woolen). Velour blouse and floral skirt,"silver" and "turquise" squash blossom necklage, concho belt and earrings, even hairstyle looks similar to real ones. Also, she got the more suitable facemold for Native American doll - Goddess, which was also used in all other Native American dolls I have.

Następnie Pacific Northwest Coast Barbie. Przedstawia kobietę z plemienia Tlingit z Alaski.

Then Pacific Northwest Coast Barbie. She's from Alaskan Tlingit tribe, and indeed her clothes pattern are easy to recognize as Tlingit inspired.I think she's is missing a few tribal things too.

Kolejna to Aztec Barbie.

Another is Aztec Barbie. She is wearing quechquemitl, and under it, huipil, both printed. The doll is definitely too pale.

Ostatnia to moja ulubienica, Inca Barbie. Uwielbiam całe setki jej sztucznych warkoczyków.

Last one is my favourite Inca doll. I totaly adore her fake braids, there's hundreds of them.

Wszystkie moje Mattelowskie Indianki razem.
All my Mattel Native Americas dolls together.

Bonus, made by me OOAK Yucatec Mayan doll, dressed in white, embroidered huipil. Of course it's far from being perfect, but I hope she's good enough. Meanwhile I found out that the Birthstone AA Barbies are a perfect choice for Native American dolls, in fact all Native American dolls should have this skin shade.

Mały offtop.
Small offtop.

I've seen opinions that Amazonia Barbie look like white woman cosplaying Native American, and I definitely agree with it. I know that problem of cosplaying Native Americans is very big in USA, many people are being totaly disrespectful, dressing like that for Halloween, Thanksgiving day (uhh, that's beyond my understanding, how can they celebrate dressed like a nation they've conquered) or festivals, completely forgetting that those clothes aren't costumes. Very sad situation, it's in same bad taste as if German people would dress for Halloween as Jews)
Also,I read that it's better to avoid word "squaw" because even if it doesn't have any "wrong" meaning it's often connected with racism.

Lara City Shopper 2013

When I saw that new City Shopper doll will be Lara I just had to have her ( I really like that mold, and use it very often, mostly on my OOAK boys). Also her dress was very motivating :) Originaly Lara was on Model Muse body, but since I had plans for using her, I rebodied her on Pop Life pivotal body. She will be rerooted too, I want her to be brownette with a hint of reddish. She will get new eye color as well.

I have to say I'm disappointed with new fashion packs, and, what's even worse, with boots of City Shoppers. Boots of Mackie doll look so plastic and cheap, that stopped me from buying her. I would like her dress though!

Lara i dwie wcześniejsze CS (niesamowicie podobają mi się ich ubranka, buty i biżuteria).
Lara and two earlier City Shoppers (I really like their clothes, shoes and jewelry).

Steffie (na ciałku Dancing with the stars) jest prześliczna!
Steffie (on Dancing with the stars doll body) is so beautiful!

Czy orientuje się ktoś kiedy miały wyjść nowe Fashionistas In the spotlight?

I have one question, does anyone know when exactly were/will be new Fashionistas In the spotlight released? I really want new Raquelle, but can'f find her on Ebay, only in a set with the rest of dolls, and I don't want them.

Halloween

This blog is not dead, just barely alive :)

Late Halloween post.

Jaime, thinking: I'm not really sure if it's a good idea... Will he like it? What if he's not celebrating Halloween, just like me? How could it happen that I never asked about it, stupid me...

Patrick: a pumpkin cup...hmmm, quite surprising gift. Didn't I tell him I'm not celebrating Halloween? Or wait, maybe I didn't...

Patrick: not really in my taste, but it's cute anyway! Just like Jaime :)

Patrick: Ok, let's drink some tea instead!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I was being lazy, traveled abroad and going to concerts, as usual. Also, I was experimenting and made a few miniatures. This is the first time when I'm doing something like this so it's nothing spectacular, but at least kitchen isn't as empty as it used to be. A few of my "works" - talavera style cups, vase and cats figurines (it's easy to notice I have my Mexican moment right now :P), bouquet of autumn leafs, ceramic bowl filled with leafs, conkers and decorative hedgehog (I know it's hard to see a hedgehog in this "something"), dog made of conkers and snappers, a few avocados, and unfinished garlicks.

All photos can be enlarged.
